Gourmet Skin Care from the iwi kitchen

Only all-natural products bring out the most in you and your skin. We gather the best that nature has to offer and make each “batch from scratch” to insure that all iwi products are as fresh and pure as possible. We invite you to cleanse, scrub, relax, and glow the iwi way.

The Chef

Yolanda Owens has been making her own natural skin care products for 8 years. In 2003, Owens founded iwi fresh at the prompting of family and friends who believed her products were much better than the skin care lines they found in stores. “I knew iwi fresh was special when I considered that other products on the market were full of toxic chemicals that damaged the skin over a period of time. I’d been creating natural products for myself and others for a few years and felt I had something unique to offer. The name iwi-short for “itiz wat itiz”-came to me and I felt it was a strong, simple, and descriptive name for my products because they contain only the freshest ingredients and no chemicals”, says Owens.

Owens was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and has a degree in Computer Science/Engineering from Albany University. While her profession is much different from her passion, she is excited about showing the world the essentials to healthy skin. Ms. Owens was inspired to make the products by her 90-year old grandmother, Mrs. Cosetta Blackmon. “My grandmother never believed in buying skin care products form the drugstore that contained harmful chemicals. She believed our skin and our bodies were too delicate for harsh, unknown substances”, says Ms. Owens. As iwi fresh’s Master Skin Care Chef, Yolanda only uses products made with high quality minerals and essential oils. Her natural skin care solutions contain such fresh ingredients as lettuce, avocados, tomatoes, carrots, flaxseed, cucumbers, fresh limes, shea/cocoa butters, and herbs. Making “each batch from scratch” results in a line of skin and body care products that are fresh, pure, environmentally safe, and most importantly , gentle enough for the entire family.

Owens is passionate about natural skin care and teaching the younger generation to be cautious about what goes in the skin and on the skin. “My goal is to educate youth on wellness because beautiful skin starts within and iwi fresh is just one component of a totally healthy lifestyle,” remarks Owens. While youth is an important market, Owens’ clientele are men and women of all ages. “I believe customers today are looking for fresh, quality skin care alternatives,” Owens states. Likewise, Yolanda provides an alternative approach to demonstrating and showcasing her products. Visiting iwi fresh parties and events is like stepping in to a gourmet skin cafe. Items are presented in the manner of a farmer’s market surrounded by fresh ingredients and produce symbolizing the natural freshness inherent in each product. Customers feel they’ve stepped into a world of wholesome freshness designed specifically for their skin.
